May Day Madrigals
After the atrocious weather conditions of 1st May 2012 when all and sundry retreated to the Chapel for the annual madrigals, the contrast this year could not have been greater. A glorious sunny day was already in full swing as the Chamber Choir took to the Bradleian Arches to deliver a varied programme of traditional madrigals to an attentive and appreciative crowd in Court. The Chamber Choir perhaps doesn’t have quite the exposure it deserves, but on this hearing and on very little rehearsal, they produced a fine, well-balanced performance under the direction of Simon Taranczuk; even more impressive given the early hour. Tradition preserved. Bravo.
