Review: Roseveare Sunday Walk
715 Marlburians set off for the start of the 13 mile charity walk around the magnificent Wiltshire countryside at 9am on Sunday 27th April.
The walk started well with a few runners taking the lead and the rest of the school following en masse. Thankfully the predictions of driving rain had been wrong and the majority of the walk was cool and overcast with the odd shower providing an added element of fun on top of the ridgeways. We were well stocked with water along the route and Norwood Hall staff kindly provided doughnuts at the halfway marker.
Overall the walk was enjoyed by all, whether it was to have a nice break from revision which so often overshadows this time of year, or as a personal challenge that the dozen or so runners took up. A special mention needs to go to James Lewis (CO U6) and Hamish Howitt (LI U6) for completing the walk (or run in this case) in 1hr 50mins.
Thanks must also go to Mr Conlen, Mr Finlay and Miss Scott for all the time and effort they put in to organising and planning the walk which got the whole school community together.
