IB Success

We would like to extend huge congratulations to our fifteen IB Diploma pupils who received their final results on Sunday 6th July.

All of our candidates passed the Diploma, with four of them achieving over 40 points out of a possible 45 (for comparison, 40 points carries more UCAS points than 4 A* grades at A level). Two of these candidates will be taking up places at Oxford next year.

The average score of 36 points is the highest since Marlborough began delivering the IB (36 points carries the same number of UCAS points as 2 A*s and 2 As at A level).

These outstanding results are ultimately down to the work and dedication of the pupils who chose this demanding route, but we know that they would be quick to praise, and thank, the IB teachers who coached, cajoled and inspired them to this success.

The IB Diploma is an internationally recognised and respected programme of study, underpinned by a clear and unwavering educational philosophy. Pupils choosing this programme must study six subjects throughout the Sixth Form, combining depth and rigour with breadth and a global outlook. In addition, they complete a three-part core programme that further adds to their overall development as active and responsible global citizens. Further details can be found elsewhere on this site, or at www.ibo.org/diploma.
