EDCLUB Christmas Cards launched

Christmas Cards designed by Jemima Jones (NC L6) are now for sale, raising funds for the EDCLUB project.

EDCLUB is an education project in Kenya, which was set up by Molly Macaire (NC L6), Jemima Jones (NC L6), Maeve Mahony (NC L6) and Lucy Sherriff (NC L6).

The Christmas cards are priced at £10 for a pack of nine with envelopes and will be available for purchase at sports fixtures, parents evening on Friday 21st November and at the Christmas Carol Concerts. Alternatively, please email hms@marlboroughcollege.org to place an order.

Currently there are 30 pupils, some of them from the College, along with six other schools who are mentoring a group of kids in a slum in Huruma near Nairobi, Kenya.

Head of Charities, Helen Scott, explained more about how the funds raised will be used.

“This is such an exciting project, not just because it was set up and is being expanded by some of our own students, but also because the EDCLUB idea is spreading into different schools very quickly.

“We’re hoping to build another computer lab in 2015 so that we can reach out to more of these kids and hopefully give them a better chance in life.”
