Pupils’ work published
Nine pupils have had their creative writing published in local magazine, Tower and Town.
Pupils were allocated one of Marlborough’s nine blue plaques as inspiration for a piece of writing. The town’s plaques commemorate the link between notable figures of the past and the buildings in which they lived and worked. They also include memorable events such as the town’s Great Fire in 1653 and King Henry III’s signing of the Marlborough Statutes in 1267.
The pupils were encouraged to research the history of the town and then unleash their imaginations by writing a creative piece that somehow linked to their given plaque.
The successful Remove pupils were: Larry Wyatt (TU), Molly Corfield (MM), Emily Symington (MM), Lara Thompson (IH), Celeste Spink (MO), Anna Pembroke (MO), Charles Roché (B1), Checkie Hamilton (MO) and Oliver Ordish (PR).
