British Shooting Competition

In glorious Spring sunshine on Thursday 17th March, 12 Marlborough shooters travelled to Cheltenham College to compete alongside the hosts, Dean Close, and Wycliffe, at the first ever schools Target Sprint competition organised by British Shooting.

The competitors had to complete a 400m run, then knock down five targets from 10m with an air rifle, shooting in the standing position, do another run and shoot, then finish with a third run.

All the Marlborough competitors made a brilliant effort, but special credit should go to Marcus Wimbush (PR Sh) who won the U15 boys’ competition, Ibby Lee (NC H) who won the U18 girls’ competition, Jason Kellinger (C3 Sh) who came third in the U15 boys, and Tom Elvin (BH H) who came sixth in the highly-contested U18 boys’ competition (scoring the fastest time out of all the Marlborough competitors).
