Rugby: Sexey’s Sevens

The Junior Colts were in action at Sexey’s School on Tuesday 1st March, taking part in the U15 Sevens tournament.

The boys performed incredibly well and made it to the semi-final stage, playing some great rugby along the way.

Having been drawn in a group with Sexey’s, Gordano and Clayesmore – we amassed 103 points for and only seven against so we hadn’t been tested too hard in the group stages. Harry Foster (BH Re) weighed in with six tries and Toby Hargrove (LI Re) amassed four.

Sadly, we came up against a Sherborne side who had just come off against Colstons with a very tough victory and were slightly more battle hardened and with one less game under their belts. We had also lost Will Cook (SU Re) as well in the very last group game. The boys had good pressure but failed to capitalise in the first half and Sherborne ran out 17-0 winners.

The games I have seen so far have given me a great indication of where we stand against other schools and how well we compete.
