Junior Ski Trip to Les Ménuires
Ned Finney (CO Sh) looks back on the Junior Ski Trip to Les Ménuires.
Very early on the morning on Sunday 25th March, we left London to go to Les Ménuires in the French Alps. On arrival at the ski resort, we were overwhelmed by the snow conditions, some of the best snow we had ever seen at this time of year. Splitting up into two groups on day one, we went off to ski to explore the best ski area in the world!
The weather on the first day was varied, but when the second day came, we were greeted with amazing weather with fresh powder. This meant that the off piste conditions were idyllic. As the days went on the weather varied. Skiing with the instructors was brilliant; we were taken to different places every day. The advantage of being in the Three Valleys is that it is possible to visit Meribel, Courchevel and Val Thorens. This meant that we could go to where ever the best snow was that day. Visiting the snow parks was a highlight of the trip and we seemed to spend most of our afternoons jumping and racing! Our hotel was brilliant and the food was amazing. Every evening, there was a different entertainment event, which makes this hotel a perfect location for school groups.
When the day to leave came everyone seemed disheartened to leave the alps. Arriving back in London later that day we were met by equally cold temperatures! Thank you so much to Miss Meehan, Mr Staines and Mr Arkwright. And most importantly thank you to Mr Lauze for organising the trip.
