Applying for a 16+ Scholarship
Entering the Sixth Form is hugely exciting at any school, but particularly at Marlborough. It is a time when pupils intellectually come of age as they narrow down to a handful of chosen subjects to study, in small classes with like-minded individuals. Central to the success of the two short years of Sixth Form life is a pupil’s academic ambition and motivated drive. As well as studying four subjects at either A Level or Pre U, pupils have the opportunity to take an ‘Extended Project Qualification’ in an area of any interest, an AS Level in Creative Writing or language options.
Scholarships available to apply for are: Academic, Music, Sports and William Morris All-Rounder. Further information about Academic Scholarships can be found here and details about all scholarship subject options and bursarial support, can be found in the Scholarship Prospectus.

The College’s Bursary Policy
The Council of Marlborough College is committed to broadening access to the school by offering to eligible parents means tested financial support with the payment of school fees.
Such support may be awarded in the form of a discount of up to 100% on fees depending on the financial, compassionate or other relevant circumstances of applicants. For 13+ entries, the deadline date for bursarial support is 5th November of an applicant’s Year 7. For 16+ the deadline date for bursarial support is 1st October of an applicant’s Year 11.
Awards are subject to repeat testing of parental means each year and may be varied upwards or downwards depending on parental circumstances.
The assessment determines the appropriate level of parental contribution in relation to their net resources and thus the level of the award that will be offered.
The level of the award may also be influenced by compassionate or other relevant circumstances.
