The girls are either orphans, have a single parent who is unable to care for them or have lost contact with their parents. Most of the girls have been rescued from domestic service. Some have been found homeless in the streets by volunteers and others have been given shelter after having been arrested by the police whilst living on the streets.

The girls at Baale Mane were very happy to receive a £1,000 donation and this money will go towards improving the levels of comfort and security at the Baale and supporting a health camp where young people can be prescribed medication ranging from worming tablets to antibiotics.
