Following her success in the Horse of the Year Show at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham (she finished twelfth out of twenty-five in the Senior Class), Eleanor Barns-Graham was selected to train with the Great Britain Three-Day Eventing squad over the forthcoming winter.
In November, Eleanor was also successful at the final of the World Class Start and Potential Trials that aims to highlight potential Olympic gold medal winners.
She has recently been awarded a place on the lottery-funded and hugely influential World Class Programme and is now one of just fourteen Under-21 Three-Day eventers nationally who have been chosen to receive this special support and sponsorship. The aim of the scheme is to enable its members to compete in the Great Britain Eventing Team at the 2012 Olympics in London.
On Saturday 3rd February, she won first place in the "Jumping and Style" competition in Bristol, an event that entails show jumping as well as cross-country in an indoor arena. In doing so she beat the current U18 European champion, the U18 British champion and three of the top fifty UK senior riders.
