Fencing Professional: Prof Norman Golding (current GB Coach.)

Fencing has a long established tradition at the College. It is open in the Michaelmas and Lent terms as a sporting option to any boy or girl. Club training sessions take place twice a week at times that allow those involved in other sporting options also to compete.

Marlborough is fortunate to have a dedicated fencing room with two pistes. Anywhere between three and six teams compete in fixtures against other schools.

The College was proud to see Simeon Seamer’s development as an international fencer while at the College between 1996 and 2001. He was the Public Schools Foil Champion in 2000 and went on to become the Captain of England Under 21s. He won a silver medal in the Great Britain U18 National Finals in 2001. Ross Martyn-Fisher was the Wiltshire U18 foil champion for 2006.
