Hockey is the major game for girls in the Michaelmas Term. Since 1989 and the inception of full coeducation, Marlborough has thrived as a centre of girls’ Hockey.
Teams regularly compete at National Level and certain individual achievements have been impressive – Florence Cooke played for the England U18 team in 2001 and Fiona Worrall became an Oxford Blue in 2000.

The girls use two astro-turf all-weather pitches, one with floodlights, and a number of grass pitches. In addition the Sports Hall complex offers the opportunity for indoor hockey.
Twelve teams compete in block fixtures against major schools, which include Cheltenham College, Clifton College, St Edwards' Oxford, and Dean Close. There are four teams at U14 level, three at U15 and five Open XIs.
U18 and U16 teams are annually entered in the National Schools' Hockey Tournament, which consists of three rounds: county, regional and national. In 2006, both U18 and U16 teams reached the Regional round of the National Schools’ Hockey Tournament.
Major tours take place every three years, with the most recent one visiting South Africa in 2004.
