Polo is offered as a Tuesday or Thursday activity across all year groups in the Lent and Summer terms for experienced and novice players.
Lessons are conducted by Giles Ormerod, a qualified HPA instructor, at his own club, Druids Lodge Polo Club, which is a 45 minute drive from the school. The club has excellent arena and outdoor facilities in a beautiful setting and a string of high quality, experienced polo ponies.
The cost of hiring the ponies is included in the tuition fee, but players are also welcome to bring their own ponies to practices.
Fixtures are arranged for arena polo in the Lent term and we have a full fixture list for the Summer term as well. In addition to these fixtures against other schools, we also enter the main SUPA arena and outdoor tournaments.
In 2007, Marlborough College was represented for the first time in the Junior HPA Tournament that takes place during the summer holidays.
