Admissions , 16+

Candidates for Lower Sixth entry may be registered with the College at any point up to the closing date (usually early October in the year before entry).

Once registered, the Admissions Office will write to the candidate's parents to point to the next stage in the procedure.

Visit to the school to meet an Admissions tutor and to tour the school. Contact information.

 

Registration

When you fill in and return the Prospectus Request Form you will be sent a Registration Form. If you wish to proceed with an application please fill in this form and return it to the College with a registration fee of £150. Prospectus Request Form.

 

September Open Day

An Open Day specific to Lower Sixth entry is held for those entering the school the following year.

 

Early October

Closing date for entry for the following September.

 

November

L6th Entrance Examinations.

L6th Academic Scholarship examinations (for those selected for entry following the entrance examinations)

L6th Music Scholarship assessment.

 

Early December

Places offered to successful candidates. Upon acceptance of a place, a confirmation fee of £1,000 is required.

Completion of Careers Questionnaire.

January

Allocation of House places by Senior Admissions Tutor.

 

June

Visit for careers interview, to meet heads of department and to meet housemasters and housemistresses.

 

August

GCSE results sent to Marlborough.

All candidates must achieve at least six grade Bs in their GCSEs including English and Mathematics (in practice, most successful candidates will get more GCSEs at considerably higher grades than these).

 

September

Arrival at Marlborough.
