In the Remove (Year 10) and Hundred (Year 11) pupils will study a core of compulsory subjects to GCSE: English, a modern foreign language, Maths and the three Sciences - Biology, Chemistry and Physics. They will also continue to study Information Technology, Physical Education and Religious Studies.

Subject Options
In addition to the core, pupils make a choice from a wide range of options: Art, Classical Civilisation, Drama, French, German, Geography, Greek, History, Latin, Music, Russian and Spanish. Design Technology is also offered but this is studied at AS level rather than GCSE.
Pupils are normally required to choose four subject options of which one must be a modern foreign language.
Pupils choosing Greek do so as a fifth option, for an additional four periods a week. Astronomy is also available as an additional subject. |
Length Of Courses
GCSE courses are generally run for two years and pupils take the majority of their exams at the end of the Hundred year. However, in French, the top sets sit their GCSE exams earlier and then move on to study a more advanced syllabus.
In the Hundred, pupils no longer take Physical Education and an extra period per week is allocated to English |
