Morris houses 70 girls aged 13-18.

The House is named after William Morris, who was a pupil at the college between 1848 and 1851. It was one of the first of the girls’ boarding houses and moved to its current building in 1994. Attached to North Block via a “bridge of sighs”, it is sited on the north side of the Bath Road just opposite the entrance to Court.

Julia Hodgson came to Marlborough to teach Geography in 2000. She was appointed as Resident House Tutor to Morris in 2001, and took over the running of the House four years later. She teaches Geography and has coached hockey, netball and athletics. She has also been an officer in the CCF and assisted in the OA Department.

Julia is an erstwhile rower and diver, currently a keen runner and occasional amateur mountaineer. She is married to Julian who also teaches Geography in the College. They have two young daughters.
