Follow the links to Donate Now where we can accept one-off cash gifts or you can set up a regular gift via direct debit too.
Under Gift Aid, charities can recover the 22% basic rate tax that you have already paid on the gift if you pay UK tax. If you are a higher rate taxpayer you can personally reclaim the difference between the higher and basic rates of tax (currently 40%-22%=18%). The table below shows just how beneficial this scheme can be to you and to Marlborough!
Gifts from the US
Tax-deductible gifts from US taxpayers can be made through Marlborough College Inc. an IRS registered tax efficient charity in America.
Please send all gifts from America to:
Charlie Kirkwood, President of Marlborough College Inc.
ShawneeLodge
Shawnee-On-Delaware
There are many other ways of giving...
Shares
The donation of stocks and shares to charity are exempt in the UK from Capital Gains Tax so are therefore a very efficient and beneficial way to give. Simply contact Neil Croucher the Foundation Director if you would like to give this way.
Legacies
Making a bequest in a will is a tax efficient way of giving, as it is free from Inheritance Tax. There are several ways to which a legacy donation can be made when writing or amending a will. Please see our Legacy Brochure available from the Foundation Office.
Other Tax Effective Ways of Giving
As gifts to charities are not subject to capital Gains Tax or Capital Transfer Tax, donors may consider making a bequest of cash investments or other assets, all of which would be free of Capital Transfer Tax on death.
