On a very warm Friday 9th May approximately 30 OMs, Parents and Friends took up the Foundations invitation to come back to the College and hear of our development plans.
We gathered for Coffee outside the Adderley at 11.30 which provided the opportunity to catch up and reminisce for those that have not been back recently. Some guests had travelled from far and wide to attend, particularly Reggie Wills from Portugal and Charlie Kirkwood from America.
The Chairman of the Foundation, John Manser, said a few words followed by the Master, Nicholas Sampson, who spoke of his vision for the future of Marlborough and the value of having such a generous community. This was followed by drinks on the Master’s lawn with music recitals by three current pupils who sang and played beautifully. The party then moved on to the Masters’ Common Room for lunch.
It was a great occasion and the fact that so many were there to listen to the Master's plans for Marlborough, is a great testimony of the support and affection still felt for the College.
