Visiting instrumental music teachers
There are approximately thirty visiting music teachers teaching at the College. These are distinguished performers and teachers, many of who perform with leading orchestras of the UK including City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, Welsh National Opera, BBC National Orchestra of Wales, Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, English Chamber Orchestra and Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment.
Visiting advisors and consultants
Eminent appointed visiting consultants also visit the College on a regular basis to perform, give master classes and to provide coaching. Our Artistic Advisors are Julian Lloyd Webber and Tasmin Little and our consultants are:
- Ronan O'Hora - Head of Keyboard, Guildhall School of Music and Drama
- Ioan Davies - Head of Chamber Music, Yehudi Menuhin School
- Geoffrey Burgon - from 2008 to 2010- Associate Composer (Film scores and TV soundtracks include: Brideshead Revisited, Silent Witness, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy)
Professional Orchestra in Partnership
Unique to Marlborough the Southbank Sinfonia of London visits annually to give a series of concerts, workshops and one to one lessons, culminating in a side by side orchestral gala concert with the Marlborough College Symphony Orchestra.
