A Decade of Expression – OM art from the 1995 – 2005 decade

Category: Art

On this term’s OM Club Day, the Mount House Gallery hosted an exhibition of art by a number of OMs from the 1995 – 2005 decade. The idea for the exhibition came from three OMs – Zanny Mellor (MM 2000-05), Georgie Borthwick (NC 2000-05) and Lucinda Lovell (MM 1999-02), who are keenly aware that this decade produced a significant number of ‘working artists’. Working hard to contact a number of alumni from the relevant decade, the exhibition showcased a broad range of works. Portraits by Henrietta Abel-Smith (CO 2003-05), a large abstract drawing by Emilie Pugh (2004-06), a suite of small, mixed-media studies by Emma Maconie (MO 1999-04) and examples of Zanny Mellor's abstracts made for an engaging, visually rich display.

The event ran for two weeks running up to the OM Club Day, finishing with a flourish on the day itself. A heartfelt ‘thank you’ is due to the three OMs who initiated and ran the exhibition.
