New Art Exhibitions

Category: Art, Community, General

A selection of photographs by Fran Smith is currently being exhibited within Common Room.

These strange colourful abstract shapes and forms are not seen from the Hubble telescope but are in fact still life tableaux taken under studio conditions using a variety of common place materials such as plasticine and water. It's also surprising to know that these other worldly scenes have not been altered in anyway but are straight from the camera. This is a wonderful collection to brighten up your day.

Everyone should have heard about Nightmares and Dreamscapes by Archie Franks, this year's artist in residence showing at the Mount House Gallery. These much admired paintings are well worth a look, the gallery is open Wednesday - Sunday from 2 until 5 pm and closes on Sunday 11th October.
