Category: Art, Academic, Community, General

U6 History of Art pupils recently attended a private viewing of an exhibition by Richard Shirley Smith, one of Britain’s most celebrated illustrators and painters.

Richard is renowned for his skill as an engraver of traditional woodblock prints, and as a muralist, in addition to his works on canvas.

The exhibition was held at the Katharine House Gallery in Marlborough. Richard was Head of Art at Marlborough College between 1966 and 1970.
