Major European Award in Ceramics

Category: Art, General, Academic

Julia Schuster, our Artist-in-Residence, whose interdisciplinary exhibition entitled "Kontakt" ("Contact") is on display in the Mount House Gallery, Marlborough College, from 6th October to 12th November has recently won a prestigious and international award.

Julia is a graduate of the Royal College of Art in London and has exhibited widely. Her work within ceramics, video and through word explores identity, awareness and deep-rooted interconnectivity.

She entered a competition led by Porzellanikon and co-organised by Staffordshire University and the British Ceramic Biennial in October 2017. The selection process was rigorous including a presentation. Julia impressed the international panel and her work "has been selected as outstanding in its modern approach, setting an example in trends for the future." Julia will be exhibiting in Berlin and Frankfurt and will create a new collection of work in a ceramic manufacture as part of her role as "Future Light in Ceramics Ambassador".
