At the Public Schools’ Fencing Championships at Crystal Palace this week, George Malloch-Brown (CO L6) and Al Aldridge (CO L6) both reached the last 16 in the U18 boys’ epee. Both drew on exceptional resources of stamina and effort, fencing against many of the best young fencers in the country, some of whom fence internationally, and should be very proud of their achievements.
Anna Gray (NC U6) also put in an exceptional performance coming 3rd in the Girls' U18 sabre against really tough national competition.
There were also some excellent results in the Wiltshire County Youth Championships held on Sunday 17 March. George Malloch-Brown came 1st in both the U20 Sabre and Epee, beating team mate Al Aldridge into 2nd for both, whilst Al also came 1st in the U20 Foil. Theo Featherstone (C1 Re) won the U16 Sabre, coming 2nd and 3rd in Epee and Foil respectively, whilst George Holland (CO Re) came 1st in the U16 Foil and 2nd in Sabre. Ben Powell (CO Sh) won the U14 Foil, beating team mate James Neville (CO Sh) into 2nd place.
