Scott Centenary Sledge Pull

Category: Community, Events

A group of twenty Lower Sixth students are taking part in the Centenary Sledge Pull on Monday 12th March, in memory of Robert Scott, who died one hundred years ago on his return from the South Pole.

This and other events have been designed to raise money in support of the Scott Polar Research Institute, which the College has a long standing association with, and the important and vital work of Teenage Cancer Trust, which is devoted to improving the lives of teenagers and young adults with cancer. We will be running eleven miles pulling two sledges, which represents the final leg of the expedition which unfortunately Scott and his crew were unable to make.

As part of the IB Creativity, Action and Service programme we have collaborated our ideas to try and raise as much money as possible. We have organised a number of events to bolster our fund-raising efforts. These include an Upper School charity bar, a cake sale and a Shell Film Night.
