One of the most inclusive and inspiring events in the Music calendar is the internal competitive Music Festival which this year took place on Sunday 29 January 2012. It really is a feast of music; over 260 different performances from over 160 pupils in 22 different categories of classes, judged by seven eminent external adjudicators giving an idea of the considerable involvement and complexity of this event. Statistics however don't tell the whole story. This was a day where all ages and stages gave of their best in a healthy, competitive atmosphere, generating high praise from the judges and audience who witnessed the plethora of classes. Unsurprisingly there were some very worthy winners with some equally worthy runners up, who perhaps on another day might have claimed the first prize themselves. To see such enthusiastic, high quality and sincere music making from so many College students is a wonderful thing and confirms that Music at Marlborough has a very healthy heart. Congratulations to all pupils and staff who made this event such a remarkable occasion.
