Renaissance Art in Venice

Category: Speakers

On Wednesday 9th December, Charlie Hall from John Hall Venice, the long-established art history travel specialists, addressed Marlborough's Art Historians on the subject of Renaissance Art in Venice.

He spoke about the transitions in style and handling between Bellini, Giorgione, Titian, Tintoretto and Veronese, and emphasised the qualities of their work that arose from their Venetian environment.

This was an important talk for some of our Upper Sixth students in particular who have spent the Michaelmas Term engaging with the art of Venice in the sixteenth century.
