Congratulations to the College 1st V Squash team (Eduardo Tomassini, George Rolls, Matthew Thompson, Archie Sandberg & Ben Wray) who performed extremely well at the Roehampton Schools' Invitiational Tournament yesterday.
In the Group stages, the boys won 3 out of 3 matches, beating K.C.S. (3-2), Sherborne (4-1) and Trinity (5-0).
Having topped Group A, the boys faced the second placed team from Group B, Dulwich, in the semi-finals. In a closely fought contest, they demonstrated real character, determination, skill & superior levels of fitness to win 3-2. Well played!
The Final! A nail-biting affair against Epsom, '2 all' going into the final match. Neck and neck for much of it. However, despite all the will in the world, the boys were not quite able to pull off a win and ended up losing 3-2.
It was an excellent day and the 1st V should be proud not only of their performances, but of the way they conducted themselves throughout the day and their demonstration of such great team spirit.
