On Friday 30th September, the wife of Barton Hill's Housemaster, Mrs Lyndel Moore, and friends hosted a Macmillan 'World's Biggest Coffee Morning' event in Barton Hill. Sally Cripps, the dame of Barton Hill, Mrs Moore and members of the local community made a vast amount of cakes, which were sold throughout the morning, keeping the Common Room packed.
In addition, a raffle supplied by Norwood Hall, was held during the fundraiser, boosting the money raised by the cakes, coffee and donations. The Barton Hill boys also contributed to the buying of the cakes during the morning and any cakes left over were sold around the College later in the day to raise extra funds.
Through everyone's generosity the coffee morning raised in excess of £1000 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
