Blackett Science Lecture

The 12th annual Blackett Science lecture was given on Tuesday 29th November in the Ellis by the College's Charlie Barclay (Director of the Blackett observatory).

The talk was titled 'Tunguska's legacy - The threat of asteroid impact'. Attended by Friends of the Marlborough telescope outreach group, pupils and other visitors, the talk covered the increasing evidence for the precarious environment for us on a planet in the inner Solar System and attempted to put into perspective the threat that we face. The plans for the ESA/NASA Asteroid intercept and deflection mission were also outlined.
