West Kennet Long Barrow

Category: General, Academic, Trips

Each week the HATA (History And The Arts) Society takes groups of Shell pupils to the mighty West Kennet Long Barrow, one of Britain's oldest buildings (c. 3600 BC).

Pupils enjoy exploring the passages and chambers of the great mysterious temple/tomb, and also have a chance to consider the wider Avebury landscape, dotted as it is with exceptional pre-historic sites.

We're lucky indeed to have such grandeur on the doorstep.
