Personal Background
I was in Cotton House from 1974-1976, before going to Bristol University to read Economics. After graduating, I went to work in the City for 15 years, initially in corporate finance and subsequently as a corporate stockbroker.
Following marriage and the birth of two sons, I gave up my career. Recently, however, I have become very involved with a charity in London which provides sports and performing arts programmes for inner city teenagers who are disadvantaged and at risk of social exclusion either as a result of disability or because of economic deprivation.
Both my sons are now at Marlborough – John is in the Lower Sixth in Littlefield and Henry in Remove in Cotton House.
