November 2007  Tim Fosh & Henry Adams (C1 & B1 1998-03) Sailing the Atlantic

Tim and Henry are sailing the Atlantic in a 26 foot folkboat. They are flying out to Portugal to meet the boat in two weeks whence they sail it to the Canaries (Gran Caria to be specific). The race starts on the 25th November and you can find further details at www.worldcruising.com/arc. They hope to arrive for the 20th December and then spend Christmas in the Caribbean before Tim flies back to London to find a job in February. They have set up a webpage (www.justgiving.com/timothyfosh) to aid people in giving whatever they may feel is a fair sum to their supported charity, the Samantha Dickson Trust. Hopefully other OMs will be keen to help two recent OMs in our adventure and spirit of endeavour.

September 2007  Jake Meyer (C3 1997-02) Navigation of the Thames

I am courageously setting off from Lechlade in a bid to navigate the Thames to London. For all of those who know me, you'll know that I am never one to take the well-trodden trail - so I will be travelling in a bathtub!!

Armed with little more than a paddle, tent, rubber duck and buckets of enthusiasm, I will hopefully travel around 140 miles in less than 5 days! As far as I know, nobody has ever successfully completed this wild route in a bathroom fitting, and I realise that I will be challenging commonsense as well as personal hardship.

So with this in mind please sponsor me!!!

I am raising money for the Red Cross UK Flood Appeal -
Hundreds of thousands of people were affected by the July floods. Gloucestershire was one of the worst hit counties - fortunately my family weren't affected - but many were. This little expedition is my way of trying to do a little to help those affected.

It is so easy, you can do in on the internet -

www.justgiving.com/jakemeyer

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: British Red Cross will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

Or if you prefer good old fashioned pen, paper and cheques -

make them payable to
British Red Cross National Floods Appeal

and send them to
