About me
After Marlborough College, with a strong desire to follow my passion in art, I studied Design and Art Direction at Manchester Metropolitan. After graduating with a 2:1, I did a Ski Season in France and then studied Spanish for 6 months in Seville. I then moved to London and worked for Creativbase, an online creative agency covering all aspects of the visual arts. My job was diverse and challenging, but I knew that I wanted to be more hands on with my own creative ideas and individual style.
In my spare time, I began designing and sewing handbags from materials I found around the house, funky cloths and clothes from charity shops. I received many compliments and unexpected orders…..even from Kate Winslet! The encouragement from family and friends and my passion for designing, gave me the confidence to start up my business. I enrolled part-time at Chelsea Art School to study textile design and screen-printing to develop my knowledge of materials and began to source fabrics from all over the world, I sourced a manufacturer in London, and this is how the Arm Candy Label was born.
About my business
Arm Candy has now grown to be an established designer collection of ladies handbags and accessories sold throughout the UK. The bags are available at some of the best boutiques in London, through its own online store www.armcandybags.co.uk, and through exclusive Arm Candy events.
Much of production is still processed in London by a fabulous team of craftsmen, who clients include Lulu Guiness and Anya Hindmarch. We have now moved the majority of the production to Istanbul, where they have over 500 years experience producing fine leather garments. We spare no attention to detail in the workmanship. The bags are all handmade, using the finest quality materials, with up to 10 individual craftsmen working on each Arm Candy bag.
Our philosophy is to stand out from the crowd, so through stylish timeless designs, we aspire to create gorgeous quality bags that make our clients look both glamorous and individual, whatever the occasion. The current collection includes functional day bags, big slouchy totes, evening clutches, wallets and handy make-up bags.
