Mezzo-soprano Susanna Spicer (Summerfield 1979-81) founded Singers Direct 10 years ago, and it has since provided soloists for concerts all over the country, from Edinburgh's Usher Hall to London's Barbican and all of the country's foremost cathedrals. Choral societies and gala promoters appreciate the professionalism of the singers and being able to deal directly with the performers they are engaging rather than endless "middle men", the potential flexibility over fees and musical compatibility of the singers.

Singers Direct can provide soloists for repertoire as wide ranging as Mahler, Purcell and Gershwin, last minute replacement singers for choral societies faced with last minute cancellations and are a friendly and dedicated team as determined to achieve a musically excellent performance as the promoters who come to us, in many cases, time after time.

She herself has extensive experience, from performances in the Albert Hall for the Tuesday Partnership's Messiah and Elijah, to Verdi's Requiem in the Barbican and Winchester Cathedral, Mahler 8 in Edinburgh's Usher Hall, and broadcasts for Simon Rattle, Kurt Masur and John Eliot Gardiner.
