Reginald Francis Wills (B1 1935-39)
Reginald Wills, always known as Reggie was born on 22 January 1922, and attended Marlborough in B1 from 1935 to 1939. He then went into Military service and was a member of the Arnhem forces that liberated France. Following many years in Military service, he was finally appointed as a Lt. Commander in the Australian Navy, serving in Vietnam and South East Asia. In later life, Reggie was the General Manager of the United Arab Shipping Co, in Saudi Arabia.
He married Johanna (Hans) Lutting, with whom he had a very happy marriage, and bought a retirement house in Portugal some 30 years ago. Hans, sadly, died some 5 years ago and Reggie was left on his own with a gardener and housekeeper, with only Felipe and Sheenah Souza Holstein as his closest friends.
Reggie collapsed in early September and was taken to hospital, and died on 25 September 2009.
A memorial service will be held for him on Saturday 26 January at the Chapel of Marlborough College, followed by a reception in the Adderley for those present.
We hope to contact as many of his UK friends as possible, including his Regiment in order that we give the opportunity to give thanks for the life of Reggie. We are also hopeful that his Portuguese close friends will be with us.
