Dunford Lecture

The College is enormously grateful for the continued support of the Dunford family for this annual lecture. 

Three brothers all attended Marlborough: Robert (1998-2003), Jason (2000-2005) and David (2001-2006). Jason and David both have impressive swimming records.

Jason Dunford

  • First Kenyan swimmer in history to qualify for an Olympic Games, gaining qualification for the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, China in the 100m Butterfly, as well as the 50m, 100m and 200m Freestyle.
  • At 2008 Beijing Olympics broke the Olympic, Commonwealth and African records (51.14 seconds) on the way to capturing 5th place in the 100m butterfly. Moved to 6th on the World All-Time list.

David Dunford

  • Second Kenyan Swimmer after Jason to qualify for an Olympics.
  • He competed in the 50m freestyle, winning his heat, capturing 20th place and setting a new Kenya record of 22.29 seconds.
