Master in Charge:
M Shaw (Level 2 Coach)

Basketball Coach:
M Analts (Level 3 Coach)

Basketball has grown hugely in popularity in recent years thanks to some high class coaching from the likes of Mr David Roper (former England international),and currently Mr Matt Analts (level 3 coach). It is played by both boys and girls from any age group, either as a competitive team game or as a club sporting option.

Training occurs on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons throughout the Michaelmas Term, in which a fiercely contested house competition takes place in the evenings after prep. Basketball is one of the most sought after of all the sporting trophies for both the boys and girls' houses, and the competition generates a fantastic atmosphere in the main college sports hall and the old gym, where the games take place.

The team plays in the College Sports Hall, a splendid multi-purpose indoor facility.

Matches, Competitions and Events

In the Lent Term inter-school fixtures are played a U18 and U16 level for the boys against the college's traditional public school rivals, and in the 2011 season our U18 side enjoyed its most successful season for some years, winning six out of the nine games played.

With some young talent coming through in the Shell and Remove year groups, the future looks bright for basketball at Marlborough.
