Master in charge: Mr T Kiggell

Fives has been played at Marlborough for over 100 years and is open to boys and girls of all ages as a sports option in the Michaelmas and Lent terms. Senior boys coach the Shell on Wednesday afternoons.

The College has four indoor Rugby Fives courts and two Eton Fives courts, making it one of very few schools with facilities for more than one version of the game. These courts were the gift of the Martineau family in 1929 and were re-covered in 2001. The floors were renovated in 2011. The College hosts the girls' National Championships in May and the British Universities Championships in November.

Matches, Competition and Events

Marlborough always competes in the West of England Schools' Championships in January, as well as the National Championships at Easter. On the schools' circuit we play Winchester, Radley, Sherborne, Bradfield, Malvern, Blundells and Bryanston. We also play against the Jesters, the RFA, Marlborough town and the Wessex Club. In May 2011, Laura Jardine Paterson and Louisa Treadwell won the National U18 Doubles title. Sam Rolls and Kasper Bowyer-Knight won the Open Plate Competition at the Schools' Winchester Fives Championships in 2009.
