Swimming is open to all pupils as a competitive and afternoon option as well as being an integrated part of P.E. lessons.


Marlborough College has its own superb, eight lane, 25-metre competition pool which is amongst the best in the South West of the country.

The ability to raise the pool floor at one end gives flexibility to the teaching and training environment.

The Omega electronic timing system provides excellent precision and instant results to close races.

Competitions, Matches and Events

The main term for swimming is in the summer but inter-school and inter-house competitions take place throughout the school year.
Recent leavers have competed successfully at international level, with Jason and David Dunford competing at the Commonwealth Games in 2006 and 2010 (winner), and the World Swimming Championship in 2007 and the Olympics in 2008 (finalist) and 2012.
