Artists visit Ashmolean Museum

Lower Sixth artists spent a day exploring the Ashmolean Museum, Oxford, on Tuesday 6th November.

33 pupils created observational sketches (a number of pupils creating very assiduous and detailed observed work) from a range of paintings and sculptures spanning over five centuries, from Michelangelo in the High Renaissance, to Bacon and Freud, “two masters of the brush” in the late 20th century. The knowledge gained and studies created from this day will inform each A Level Artists’ practical and written work for many months to come.

A most rewarding day had by all.
