Riders record NSEA success

It was a successful weekend for Marlborough College riders at the National Schools’ Equestrian Association competition, held at West Wilts on Saturday 26th January.

Flora Birkmyre (IH Re), Celia Chancellor (EL Re), Alexandra Horne (MO Sh) and Rose Olver (EL Hu) competed together as a team in the 1m Hickstead Elite Show Jumping Qualifier, all riding lovely rounds to finish with a team third place. A fantastic result but sadly just out of a qualifying place.

Flora went on to compete as an individual in the 1m Eventers’ Challenge and jumped a lovely clear round to secure fifth place.

Rose, Celia and Ali all jumped in the 1.10m Hickstead Elite Show Jumping qualifier. There were no teams in this class so all jumped as individuals. All the girls jumped brilliantly after a long wait and a change of arena to indoors due to failing light, with both Celia and Rose producing fantastic clear rounds and Ali just having an unlucky pole for four faults.

Congratulations to Celia who finished in second place, qualifying for the Championships at Hickstead in the summer.
