Shell Sport Begins
Today has been an exciting day with the new Shell taking part in hockey, lacrosse and rugby assessment sessions.
Those that took part are going to be the next wave of young sportsmen and women through the College and it’s been wonderful to witness such enthusiasm, exuberance and energy out on the pitches – all matched by that of the coaching team.
It’s always challenging for pupils when they step up to this next phase of their education. The boys and girls will have so many opportunities to develop their skills – in an array of sports – over the coming weeks and years. Playing as part of a team and the experiences they will have along the journey are such important life skills.
We are lucky to have such wonderful facilities for our pupils to enjoy and I’d like to thank the ground staff, who have done a superb job over the holidays preparing the pitches. This weekend is the first round of Shell fixtures with rugby playing development games against Stowe, girls’ hockey against Warminster and there are lacrosse training sessions with St Mary’s Calne.
Further fixture information, including team information and venues, can be found on the dedicated Marlborough College sports website here.
