A Celebration of Confirmation

Celebration of Confirmation

Tuesday 21st September 2021

The College was proud to celebrate two services of Anglican Confirmation this Sunday in our beautiful Chapel of St Michael and All Angels.

Families, godparents and friends of those getting confirmed assembled in Court before processing into Chapel for this significant and uplifting occasion on what was a beautiful sunny day.

The Right Reverend Andrew Rumsey, the Bishop of Ramsbury officiated alongside our Senior Chaplain, the Reverend Tim Novis. In his homily, the Bishop emphasised the importance of the day to the confirmands as a marker along their journey of faith – a time to celebrate where they have come from, where they are today in their faith and an opportunity to look to the future in hope. The Bishop confirmed 43 members of the Marlborough community. A further service is planned for May 2022.

A retiring collection raised £2,245 for the Refugee Council for their work to support Afghan refugees who have sought sanctuary in this country. The College will be raising money for this important charity and humanitarian effort in several ways in the coming months.
