Let the Games Begin

Let the Games Begin

Friday 10th September 2021

This week has seen the new Shell taking part in hockey, lacrosse and rugby sessions following the start of the Michaelmas Term.

It was wonderful to see all our new pupils out on the sports fields, less than 24 hours after joining the College. These young men and women are the next generation of sporting talent and it was a pleasure to witness such boundless energy out on the pitches.

It is always challenging for pupils when they step up to this next phase of their education. They will have so many opportunities to develop their skills in an array of sports over the coming months and years. Playing as part of a team and the experiences they will have along the journey are such important life skills and we look forward to supporting them.

My thanks go to the coaching staff for laying on such engaging sessions and also to the grounds team for their tireless work over the summer months in producing playing surfaces to be proud of.

Fixtures return this weekend with rugby matches against Radley College, girls’ hockey against Clifton College, football versus Bradfield College and lacrosse at the Welsh Rally and Tudor Hall.

Best of luck to all involved!
