As we continue our year of rebuilding in terms of live musical performance, we were treated to a fabulous ‘double header’ of ‘Songs from the Shows’. Such was the popularity of the event amongst the pupils, it was necessary to divide the concert into two separate occasions featuring 36 pupils from all five year groups.
The programme was gloriously varied, with music presented from over 30 shows, including old favourites such as South Pacific to more contemporary current West End productions like Hamilton.
There was much to commend throughout both performances, but perhaps as we approach the end of the academic year, we should highlight presentations from our Upper Sixth singers, many of whom have given so much to so many choral mediums during their Marlborough College careers. Special praise then to Ed B, Dani D, Henry D, Maddie P and Camilla B, and good luck to them in their musical journeys in the years ahead.
Grateful thanks to all the singing teachers who helped prepare the performers, particularly Head of Singing, Mr Mattinson, and in addition, our wonderful accompanists, Mr Butterfield and Miss Toomer.
