Prize Day Review

Wednesday 1st June 2022

Commemoration and Prize Day took place at the College on Saturday 28th May and it proved to be a most memorable occasion.

The sun shone brightly on a day that began with a T20 match between the Girls XI and Shrewsbury on the XI. The Upper Sixth and their families enjoyed the traditional Commemoration Service in Chapel before their Prize Giving ceremony in the Memorial Hall. Whilst up on the Polloi, Houses cheered on their teams in the Shell inter-house Tug-of-War and the Remove Challenge.

There were musical performances, a pipe band and displays on Rare Books and on the Devizes to Westminster Canoe Race to enjoy over refreshments in advance of the welcome and speeches from the Chairman of Council and the Master.

Picnics were taken on the playing fields in House groups in view of the action on the XI, with the second T20 match of the day seeing the College’s 1st XI take on the Marlborough Blues (OMs).

The Art School and Mount House Gallery were open across the day for exhibitions of Fine Art and Photography by pupils and staff. The afternoon activities included mixed hockey, tennis and lacrosse and the final of the annual House Challenge which saw Ivy and Summerfield compete for the trophy, with Ivy emerging victorious.

The day concluded with the Prize Giving for the Lower School and Lower Sixth in the Hamersley Marquee.

All the Prize Winners can be found in this programme.

We hope you enjoy this gallery of images from a wonderful day.
