GCSE Results

Thursday 25th August 2022

Our pupils in the Hundred can be very proud of the results that they have achieved this year. They have faced more disruption than any other year group since 2020 and they have managed that with confidence, ambition and drive.

The outcomes for this year’s GCSE cohort are testament to their hard work and the dedication of their beaks and other support staff in the College’s boarding houses, each of whom played a part in ensuring that pupils took on this first exam season since 2019 in the best possible shape. 27% of grades were at grade 9, with 53% Grade 8 or above (equivalent to A*). 77% of grades were at 9, 8 or 7 (equivalent to A) and 92% at 9-6.

There were several stand-out individual performances. Dima M and Alisa A both achieved 12 9s, a remarkable feat which will place them at the very top level of achievement nationally. In addition, Maria R scored 11, while Edo Q, Nina B, Michael U and Tabitha M, scored 10 grade 9s. For more than a quarter of the year group 9 was the most common grade, while almost half of the year group scored 10 grades at 9-7 level. Every individual has their own success story. We are proud of each of them for the tenacity they have shown and we are excited to welcome them back to the Sixth Form.

The Master, Louise Moelwyn-Hughes, commented: “Huge congratulations to this wonderful year group on all that they have achieved over the last two years. Their hard work, determination and talent have led every single one of them, whatever their ability, to receive results they should feel proud of today and we look forward to seeing them go from strength to strength in the next stage of their journey”.
