House Shout 2022

Friday 14th October 2022

In good old fashioned, time honoured tradition, House Shout once again rounded out the first half of the Michaelmas Term.

As always it was keenly contested, full of passion, humour, intrigue and variety, as the Houses in the various categories (Mixed, Girls, Boys) contested the coveted overall prize of ‘House Song Competition Winners 2022’.

Our celebrated and eminent adjudicator was Mr Justin Pearson, amongst many other distinctions, Artistic Director of the National Symphony Orchestra and no stranger to these sort of occasions, who offered pithy and precise analysis in his assessment of each House.

Artistic competition is always a difficult one to call, and it provokes inevitable comment and heated debate at times, but a decision has to be reached and on this occasion Littlefield, Elmhurst and Barton Hill deservedly won their categories, with Elmhurst being crowned overall winners.

In the end, however, it’s the spirit of the competition that counts and in that respect all Houses can be hugely proud of their contributions on what proved to be another memorable evening.
